JAGA: How we rigged elections for buhari in Kano

WE KNOW THE TRUTH,
ABOUT YOUR CARD READER.
Kano Card Readers Recorded 410,000 (Accredited) Voters. - INEC.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) records have confirmed that their electronic Card Readers recorded only 410,000 voters during the last Presidential election in Kano state.
After the March 28, 2015 Presidential election, the total number of votes allocated to Kano state was 2,172,447. This is a total of 1,762,447 votes that is unaccounted for, from the result released and declared by the Resident electoral commissioner Alhaji Mukaila Abdullah.
Alhaji Mukaila Abdullah died in mysterious fire incident immediately after the elections, in which relatives from Jigawa state, stated that it was an assassination to cover whatever that happened during the Presidential election.
Mukaila Abdullah, his wife and children were roasted alive in their Kano residence.
Meanwhile, Nigerian President elect, Maj Gen Muhammadu Buhari has announced that he will investigate the conduct of election in some state of the Federation.
Nigerians will expect Buhari to start from Kano, Bauchi, Jigawa, Kaduna and Katsina where Card Readers captures less than 30% of the votes allocated to him in the above states

RIVERS PEOPLE IS IT TRUE "AMAECHI" IS NOT OWING YOU?

Amaechi-led NGF describes Buhari as God’s gift to NigeriansRivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi said he does not owe any civil servant in the state.
He made the clarification in response to a statement credited to Governor-elect, Nyesom Wike.
Speaking through his Commissioner for Information, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, at the weekend, Amaechi said the PDP was being mischievous by its deliberate resort to falsehood.
“We find it ridiculous that PDP and Mr. Ezebuwon Nyesom Wike’s media managers show lot of mischief and deliberate distortion of facts,” she said.
“We thought that if they lied during campaigns and electioneering, with election over, they would switch over to basic media style of information sourcing, verification and analysis.
“The rudimentary step in that is the sourcing and use of data, a critical segment available to even cob reporters”.
Amaechi said on the contrary, it is the PDP that owes Rivers people the return of its revenue diverted by the Federal Government to other states as well as the millions spent by Amaechi administration to fix its (FG’s) roads in the state.
“Governor Chibuike Amaechi has paid civil servants up to the month of March with plans to commence payment for the month of April.
“Gov. Amaechi had committed himself to the welfare of Rivers’ civil servants these past seven years and had exemplified that by regular payment of salaries in the face of dwindling national revenue.”
Rivers State is one of less than five states in the federation that have been able to keep up with salary payments in the face of empty federal coffers.
“While apologising on the recent delays in salary payment, Amaechi reiterated that civil servants must receive their wages for each month.
“PDP’s mismanagement of the national revenue, as well as its elevation of corruption to a national religion, has been responsible for dwindling federal allocation.
“In recent times, the Federal Government has had to withhold allocations meant for states, Rivers State being one of such unfortunate states,” he said.
The governor accused PDP of crying wolf where there was none, describing the statement as diversionary and meant to cover their obvious inadequacies.
“In its fatal admittance that it is approaching May 29 with more liabilities than assets, PDP sold the dummy to unsuspecting Rivers people and friends of the state to create an impression that he was leaving behind a pile of indebtedness.
“The Amaechi administration has nothing to hide. However, we must put the records straight as to the root cause of PDP’s paranoia.
“The party’s candidate, who was declared winner of the April 11 governorship election, with his team, is coming to loot the treasury of Rivers State.
“With several thugs hired to commit electoral malfeasances for the PDP – with about 11 ‘elected’ into the state House of Assembly – who must demand their settlement, the state treasury will be sucked dry.
“To begin to prepare the minds of civil servants who consequentially will be owed months of salary, PDP had to raise the falsehood,” Semenitari noted.

POOR NIGERIANS WANT TO BE LIKE ASARI DOKOBO: REASON

Mujahid Dokubo-Asari

Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo (born 1964), formerly Melford Dokubo Goodhead Jr. and typically referred to simply as Asari, is a major political figure of the Ijaw ethnic group in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. He was president of the Ijaw Youth Council for a time beginning in 2001 and later founded the Niger Delta People's Volunteer Force which would become one of the most prominent armed groups operating in the Niger Delta region. He is a Muslim with populist views and an anti-government stance that have made him a folk hero amongst certain members of the local population
Early life Asari was born in 1964 into a middle class Christian family headed by a court judge and a housewife, who also had four other children. He received both primary and secondary education in Port Harcourt and was accepted into law school at the University of Calabar but dropped out after only three years in 1990, citing problems with university authorities as his reason for doing so. He made other attempts to complete his education but his activism caused him to quit on his degree at Rivers State University of Science and Technology for reasons similar to those at Calabar, Cross Rivers State.ActivismAfter dropping out of school, Asari converted to Islam and changed his name to Mujahid Dokubo-Asari to reflect this. He spent much of the 1990s attempting to become involved in regional politics, running for two offices in Rivers State in 1992 and 1998 but failing to win on either. In 1998, the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) was formed and Asari, as a founding member, was appointed to the vice-presidency of the organization. The organization issued the Kaiama Declaration in November, expressing long-held Ijaw concerns about the loss of control of their homeland and their own lives to the Nigerian state and oil companies operating in the region. The declaration and a letter addressed to oil companies called on them to suspend operations and withdraw from Ijaw territory. The IYC pledged “to struggle peacefully for freedom, self-determination and ecological justice,” and prepared a campaign of celebration, prayer, and direct action - 'Operation Climate Change' beginning December 28. The Nigerian government responded with an immediate crackdown on the group.
Asari became the IYC's president in 2001 and led the group to pursue an agenda of "Resource Control and Self Determination By Every Means Necessary".
By 2004 Asari had retreated from public view. He would go on to create the Niger Delta People's Volunteer Force (NDPVF), which would emerge as a major catalyst for unrest in the Delta region. The NDPVF, a militant group, was funded in large part by local and regional politicians who sought great profits from the region's oil revenue. The NDPVF quickly escalted an armed conflict with a rival group, known as the Niger Delta Vigilante (NDV), who were also seeking to control the Delta's oil resources. Combat was concentrated primarily in Warri and subsequently, Nigeria's oil capital Port Harcourt, as well as areas to the city's southwest. Both groups engaged in oil 'bunkering' and other illegal forms of local resource extraction.
A change in political ideals by the NDPVF caused the group's former sponsors to withdraw their financial support, and begin funnelling funds to the rival NDV. Asari's NDPVF then made a declaration of "all-out war" against the Nigerian state.
Crisis and arrest The threats to attack oil wells and pipelines by the NDPVF caused companies operating in the area to withdraw most of their personnel from the Delta, resulting in a massive drop in oil production of 30,000 barrels per day and pushing up the price of petroleum worldwide significantly. Due to the crisis this precipitated, Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjocalled Asari and the leader of the NDV, Ateke Tom to Abuja for peace talks which were in large part a failure. After his refusal to endorse the legitimacy of the Olusegun Obasanjo government and due to his public support for self-determination of his native Ijaw people and independence for the Niger Delta, Asari was arrested and charged with treason by the Nigerian federal government. On 14 June 2007, Asari was released on bail as part of new President Umaru Yar'Adua's pledge to try and bring peace to the Niger Delta region.[1]

FIRST LADY, GAY AND DIVERSIFICATION : REASONS JONATHAN LOST SAYS PDP

jonathanPresident Goodluck Jonathan lost the last presidential election due to the overbearing attitude of the First Lady, Patience Jonathan. This is according to the Bayelsa State publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Osom Makbere. He also told Punch in an interview that international and domestic conspiracies were also part of the reasons Jonathan lost to Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, even as he further blamed the division within the party circles as another reason for Jonathan’s ouster.
According to Makbere, “History has stated that no failure, defeat or loss is a product of a single factor. Jonathan’s loss could be blamed on a multiplicity of interwoven causes.
“Jonathan was a victim and target of international cum domestic esoteric codes and conspiracies. On the international level, the passage of the anti-gay legislation led to criticisms and face-off with the US, and the West.
“The strides made in the economic sphere, especially domestic rice promotion, calculated by the Jonathan administration to flip economic growth, and boost import substitution, also negatively alerted the West. The shift to China for our railway transformation, and recently, the migration to Russia for arms and ammunition to quelling the insurgency also signalled to the West that Jonathan had started constituting a self-reliant and dependent nation-state, a feat seen too tall by the US and their allies in the West.
“The aforesaid international factors found room to flourish given the obstinacy and impudence on the part of Mrs. Jonathan. The end result of her personal ambition to plant ‘self-made’ governors triggered face-offs with some governors.”
Makbere also opined that the All Progressives Congress will perform worse than the PDP at the centre.
He said, “I can tell you that this APC will be worse than the PDP as there is already imminent fear of implosion.
“In Kano, for instance, the APC got all 40 constituencies. This meant that none of the PDP candidates were popular enough to emerge but, the PDP maintained their calm and stoicism.
“We do not know what the APC wants. Whenever they win, the PDP congratulates them, but whenever the PDP wins, the APC would induce the election observers and the electoral officers to call for a re-run or cancellation. That is the zenith of desperation.”

British Prime Minister writes Jonathan ahead of Saturday’s Elections By Ameh Comrade Godwin on March 26, 2015

David-Cameron-007Ahead of the Saturday’s presidential election, British Prime Minister, David Cameron has written to President Goodluck Jonathan to ensure that Nigerian elections are conducted in free, fair and credible atmosphere.
Cameron warned that failure to ensure a violence-free election would dent Nigeria’s international reputation.
The PM in the letter addressed to President Jonathan highlighted the importance of the elections for the African nation and the Nigeria as a nation.
According to the statement, “As Africa’s biggest democracy, successful elections in Nigeria are important not only for Nigeria’s future, but as a signal to the rest of Africa. Delivering a credible process will be a lasting credit to you as President and to Nigeria as a nation.
“I am encouraged by INEC’s advances in recent weeks. The collection of over 80 per cent of Permanent Voter Cards and the broadly successful field tests of the card readers have improved their technical preparation for the election. Your support for Professor Jega’s continuing tenure and guidance of the process remains an important part of delivering successful elections.”
“With hundreds of lives lost after the last election, the eyes of the international community will be focused on Nigeria.”
Cameron expressed satisfaction with the manner Nigeria, alongside her neighboring countries were able to tackle the Boko Haram insurgents.
He further confirmed the UK’s commitment to support Nigeria in this effort with £5 million so the Multinational Joint Task Force could tackle Boko Haram in Nigeria and the Lake Chad Basin area.

JONATHAN'S WIFE CAUGHT RIGGING ELCTION

Patience JonathanFirst Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, yesterday denied the allegation that she was pressuring the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and security agencies to rig the governorship election in Rivers State in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The state governor, Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, had alleged at a stakeholders’ meeting on Thursday that the President’s wife was in her hometown, Okrika, to supervise electoral malpractices.
But Mrs. Jonathan, in a statement issued by her Director of Information, Ihuoma Priscilla, said as an apostle of peace, she could not be involved in any act that would hinder peaceful conduct of elections in any part of the country.
According to the statement, “The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has dismissed the allegation that she was pressurising the Independent National Electoral Commission (and the Security Agencies to rig April 11 (today’s) elections in Rivers State.
“As an apostle of peace and non-violent elections, the First Lady distances herself from any alleged actions that could hinder successful elections in Nigeria, especially in her home state, Rivers State.
“She countered the insinuations that she was in her hometown, Okrika for the purpose of the governorship election, pointing out that she registered in her husband, President Jonathan’s village, Otuoke in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
“The First Lady, a highly respected indigene of Okrika in Rivers State visited her hometown on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 to a tumultuous welcome by her kinsmen and women who thronged the streets to welcome and appreciate her wonderful support to her husband, the President and for bringing development to Okrikaland.”
The Rivers governor had claimed that the First Lady was working hard to impose a governor on the state and ensure that the people’s votes do not count.
He had said, “The reason for this meeting is to let you know that what happened on the 28th of March, 2015 may or may not repeat itself. Few days ago, I said it would not repeat itself. But as at this morning, there are enormous pressures on the security operatives by the wife of the President.
“There is also enormous pressure on INEC by the wife of the President. I hope that they will not repeat the hijacking of results that we witnessed on March 28. In most of the local government areas, if not all, there were no result sheets. This time around, I hope they will bring the result sheets to the different units. I hope they will not forget the result sheets at the collation centre.
“For me as the governor of Rivers State, what is material to me is that we want to see the result sheets. We want to ensure that as we vote, our votes will count. Most of you have been asking this question; who will take over from me? I told you that we don’t want anybody to force a candidate on us.
“We don’t want people to be made governor because they want to share our resources. That is not what we want. We want to be allowed to vote and let our votes be counted. Let the wife of the President stay in her house. She should not force a candidate on us.
“They should tell her that security agencies have assured us that they will allow votes to count. I assure you that the security agencies will not be biased and I hope that the security agencies will keep to that. I hope that the woman posted here as the Resident Electoral Commission would know that her responsibility is not to allow anybody to see the result sheets,” Amaechi noted.

MORE CORP MEMBERS DIE WORKING FOR NIGERIA ON ELECTIONS

At least two persons have been killed after violence erupted in Eku community, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
A yet-to-be identified member of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, was reportedly abducted by the gunmen.
The incident occurred after some heavily armed gunmen numbering over 20 laid siege at the community.
The deceased, both whom are males in their early 30s, sustained life threatening gunshot wounds and died the next day (Thursday) at the Delta State Teaching Hospital, Oghara.
The victims were referred from the Eku Baptist Government Hospital, where they had earlier been rushed to for medical attention.
Confirming the abduction of the youth corps member, a senior police officer attached to the Abraka Police station said: “It is true that an NYSC member was abducted by the gunmen, but we do not have detail of the person yet.”
On his part, the Delta State Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, DSP Celestina Kalu said she was yet to get any official report on the abduction of the corps member.

EFCC SET TO ARREST TINUBU DURING ELECTIONS TODAY

tinubu-jonathanThe All Progressives Congress, APC, has raised the alarm over plan by the Jonathan-led federal government and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to arrest its national leader, Bola Tinubu and other chieftains of the party by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, ahead of next Saturday’s election.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, on Saturday said the federal government also planned to freeze the accounts of companies, individuals and organisations believed to be FINANCING the party so as to cripple its activities.
“Without mincing words, we are aware that a RED ALERT has been sent to the EFCC to arrest the National Leader of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on trumped-up charges anytime from now,” he said.“In addition, anyone who is suspected of being a financier of the APC is to be arrested, all in efforts to decapitate the main opposition party which is undoubtedly cruising to victory in the forthcoming elections.
“And as part of the offensive against the APC in the days ahead, there is a plan to freeze the accounts of companies, individuals and organisations believed to be FINANCING the party, with the ultimate objective of crippling the party so it won’t be able to sustain its activities, like paying its agents on Election Day and other logistics.
“I am sure the question playing on your lips are: Why would anyone want to arrest APC leaders at this time? What have they done to warrant their arrest? Will there still be a level playing ground for the elections if the main opposition party is decimated just days to the polls?
“Well, we can tell you that this planned arrest is orchestrated by the same people who have sponsored a series of protests to the EFCC, on the basis of the same documentary against Asiwaju which they also masterminded. It may sound like an intrigue, but that is exactly what it is”.

APC ORDERS FOR JONATHAN'S MOVEMENT RESTRICTION IN LAGOS

jonaThe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Friday, said its attention has been drawn to a statement issued today by the All Progressives Congress (APC) against it and President Goodluck Jonathan with regard to Saturday’s governorship and house of assembly elections in Lagos State.
A statement by its spokesman, Olisa Metuh, on Friday condemned the “unwarranted and unnecessary tension being created by the APC in Lagos state a day before the elections.”
Continuing he said, “The APC must desist from its propaganda, lies and false alarms especially bearing in mind that it did not win the presidential election on account of such. Nigerians are no longer in the mood for such politics as they have since moved ahead in celebration of the deepening of our democracy by the PDP-led administration.
“The PDP successfully nurtured democracy in the last sixteen years with attendant benefits to the people. Unfortunately, concerns are already heightening that the APC may not sustain this legacy given its disreputable disposition to national issues and ceaseless resort to propaganda and deceit.
“We are aware that the APC leader and President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has gone to about 12 states meeting and campaigning for his party’s candidates and wonder why the APC should fret about President Goodluck Jonathan’s meeting with our candidates in Lagos.
“President Jonathan has with the 2015 general elections proven beyond all doubts that he is a true democrat committed to free, fair and credible elections, a fact for which he has continued to receive accolades from well-meaning Nigerians and the international community.
“Finally, we call on Lagosians to disregard this latest false alert and come out enmasse on Saturday to exercise their constitutionally guaranteed right. In the same vein, we charge INEC and security forces to ensure that the elections are free, fair and credible not only in Lagos but also in other states of the federation”.

OBA ACTS DEATH PROMISE ON IGBOS IN LAGOS

Ambode
Ambode
Hundreds of shop owners, especially Igbos, were yesterday forced to shut-down their shops at the Idumota Market, Lagos Island and ordered to attend a rally in honour of All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate in Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode
This is coming at a time the Lagos monarch is under heavy criticism for threatening to deal with Igbo residents in Lagos if they did not vote for Ambode on Saturday.
One of the traders said: “We arrived Idumota market as early as 8 am. Shortly after, some thugs came, ordering us to shut our shops on the orders of Oba Akiolu.
“They gave us 10 minutes to hurriedly close shops and join the waiting vehicles parked in front of his palace, and heading to Orile, venue of Ambode’s campaign, led by the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.”
Some of the Igbo traders, who deal on pharmaceutical products, said when they arrived the market, they were informed that Oba Akiolu ordered everyone to close shop and join buses numbering over 100.
A Pharmaceutical products dealer, said: “We were shocked at what happened today (Tuesday). When we got to the market, we were caught unawares by a purported order from the Oba of Lagos, directing all traders to close shop and join a bus heading for Ambode’s campaign.
“We were shocked by this directive, because we were never informed the previous day (Monday) about this directive. More worrisome is the fact that I lost millions of Naira because of this self-serving coercion by the Oba.”
Another trader said: “I feel this recent forceful directive by the Oba is in fulfilment of his recent threat to deal with Ndigbo if they failed to vote for his preferred candidate. But as far as I am concerned, no amount of threat or coercion will deter me from making my choice at the forthcoming governorship election in Lagos State”.

BIAFRANS WERE RIGHT ABOUT JAGA/OBAMA ON BUHARI'S ELECTION BID

Clark Condemns Obama For Awarding Jega

Elder statesman and former federal commissioner for information, Chief Edwin Clark, has condemned the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, for presenting a “Certificate of Commendation” to Professor Attahiru Jega, the Chairman of  INEC.

Professor Attahiru Jega is receiving “Certificate of Commendation”

Speaking to journalists on April 7, 2015 in Abuja, Chief Clark stressed that the award for conducting the presidential and National Assembly elections was too hasty as Governorship and State Houses of Assembly polls are yet to be held.

According to Vanguard, Clark urged the US to leave Nigeria alone, stressing that Nigeria remains an independent country capable of doing things in its own way, not according to the dictates of the western world.

“I was surprised that Barack Obama gave Professor Attahiru Jega an award when the elections are still on. Obama should be tactful in handling the affairs of Africa. US should leave us alone, Nigeria is an Independent country. They tried it Egypt, they should not try anything in Nigeria,” he said.

James Entwistle, the US Ambassador to Nigeria, had presented the “Certificate of Commendation” to Jega for his outstanding and faultless performance during the just concluded elections.

Meanwhile, Jega had recently announced that he was not interested in the renewal of his tenure.

HOW I MADE JONATHAN LOSE- OBASANJO

How Jonathan's Defeat was Plotted by Top Leaders

How Jonathan's Defeat was Plotted by Top Leaders

THE OUTGOING President Goodluck Jonathan lost his re-election bid several weeks before the March 28 poll to a web of plots hatched at home and honed abroad, Saturday Tribune has reliably learnt.
Information also in possession of Saturday Tribune revealed a last-minute contest between forces that wanted him to bow out and those that wanted him to hold out for as long as necessary even when it was evident that the news from the field pointed at a possible defeat.
It was learnt that as of 5.00 p.m. on Tuesday, hawks around the president were still at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, piling pressure on him not to concede defeat.

Those working on him to concede and bow out, reportedly led by a former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, were also said to have stayed put in the same Presidential Villa, persuading him that it was the most honourable way to go since it was clear that figures from the field were not in his favour.

The drama in the Presidential Villa was also said to be closely monitored by combined international forces that had concluded on post-Jonathan presidency, reportedly led by the United States of America and the United Kingdom.

One of those around the president persuading him to stay put was said to be a General in the army from a not-too-core Northern state, reportedly assuring him that the alleged irregularities in the North, underage voters, among other issues, which were beamed live by a national television station and shown on the Cable News Network (CNN) would be enough ground for him to reject the outcome.

The president was also allegedly told that he would be making General Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) heroes by conceding to them, because all the good works he had done which were nearing fruition would blossom during their reign and would count as their achievements.

He reportedly told them that no matter how long he stayed in office, he would still leave one day and since crisis was certain to herald his opposition to the outcome, he would be reneging on his promise that no Nigerian blood would be worth his political ambition.

Convinced that it was the way to go, the president reportedly took “his own” by surprise by making the now-famous phone call to Buhari without telling them, although they were present at the president’s abode.

He was also said to have played a fast one on the hawks by making the call before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Buhari as the winner, following his assessment of the figures available to him, while those pressurising him to hang on reportedly thought the concession would be after the announcement by the electoral body as is usually the practice.

The western world, according to available information, keyed into the Buhari presidency project months before the election and the refusal to sell arms to Nigeria to fight the Boko Haram insurgency by Washington was said to be mainly predicated on the likelihood of Jonathan’s administration using same to quell possible civil disobedience if he manipulated the results to remain in power.

With political forces in the nation led by former President Olusegun Obasanjo reportedly concluded on getting him out at all cost, the western world, particularly the United States and the United Kingdom, were said to have been persuaded into the project on two main planks; corruption and insecurity.

Settled that Jonathan’s administration had been underwhelming in performance in those two critical areas and convinced that the incumbent was bent on retaining his job, the international coalition allegedly undermined his administration as much as possible, with allies elsewhere, including Africa, also allegedly brought into the Jonathan-must-go project.

A source pointed at two main happenings in the course of the election to show how deeply the international community was involved, while making the outgoing president to be at ease, despite the rug being pulled off his feet.

The US and the UK had been at the forefront of peace pacts across the nation, starting with Jonathan and Buhari in what came to be known as Abuja Peace Accord, with Jonathan’s government having to react angrily at a point at the perceived temerity with which top diplomats from the western world were handling peace pacts and activities regarding the electoral process.

“They almost became a parallel government in Nigeria. That is what you get when a leader is too pacifist,” a source in the government said.

The unprecedented joint statement by the US Secretary of State, John Kerry and British Foreign Secretary, Philip Hammond, overtly accusing Jonathan’s camp of moves to tamper with the incoming results of the presidential election was seen as the final move by them to show the side they were on in the contest.

The government source noted that APC was always calling on the international community to wade in when accusing Jonathan’s government of plots to manipulate the elections, because an understanding existed between them after Buhari’s appearance at Chatham House and his famous interview with the CNN.

After the field job was done and figures confirmed Jonathan’s loss, those behind the plot to ease him out and save the country from chaos were said to have moved to the last stage in the presidential contest, which was to persuade him to accept defeat, since his refusal of same could ignite the South-South and South-East and possible bloody attacks on Northerners in such states.
A predictable reprisal in the North was projected as possible fulfilment of the feared break-up. The oil interests of those western nations in the Niger-Delta also reportedly necessitated a negotiated peaceful exit for him by persuading him to accept defeat and assurance obtained from Buhari that Jonathan would face no harassment out of office.
Having fulfilled his own part, Buhari had also fulfilled his with public pronouncement that Jonathan had nothing to fear under his administration, while engaging in peace preachment to his supporters.

Apart from obtaining assurance from Buhari, the western world would also lead in global praise of Jonathan, aimed at attenuating the pains of making the wrong history of being the first defeated incumbent, while leading opposition figures were also said to be under firm instruction not to attack him in any ways until he steps down on May 29.

The US and UK were particularly said to have completely bought into the anti-Jonathan project following his decision to turn to Russia for purchase of arms, with a diplomat in foreign service saying that it would have been better for Jonathan to completely move over to Russia’s side instead of playing in the middle.
According to him, “whoever advised him to purchase arms from Russia when a real war was on with the United States misled the president. You don’t even do that during the Cold War, let alone during this “Hot War.” There was no way US intelligence circle would forgive a big nation like Nigeria making such diplomatic faux pas.

“These security experts have serious leverage over American presidents. Regardless of any friendship that could be between (American president, Barack) Obama and Jonathan, when such security goons say it is time for a leader of a nation to go, American presidents hardly say no and, obviously, Jonathan had no serious pact with (Russian president, Vladimir) Putin, beyond buying arms.”

Since the presidential election result was announced, President Obama had issued about three press statements on the outcome, Jonathan’s concession and the need for the two leaders to keep preaching peace to their supporters as well as asking that finest democratic ideals should be upheld in the conduct of the April 11 governorship election.

A government source explained that Obama’s unusual interest in the governorship election was borne out of fears that Jonathan might take his frustration of loss out on the process and tamper with it in a way to give his party, which would be in opposition from May 29, an edge in governorship spread by winning as many states as possible.

In days ahead, it was gathered that beyond the phone calls, Jonathan may be visiting the United States as a special guest of Obama which, an insider said, is aimed at retaining him as the face of peace offering to the Niger-Delta, which is feared could become the breeding ground for fifth columnists that would make the nation’s economy unmanageable for Buhari.
